About Us

Hello! This web site, and the entire concept of Scrapbooking Diversity, is a strong passion of ours. It began several years ago as just a thought in Sue's head, and finally came to reality in 2003 with our first national seminars, Scrapbook U-Diversity, and our subsequent book, Scrapbook U-Diversity: Redefining The Scrapbooking Industry. This web site was the natural next step.

We have been involved in the scrapbook industry since 1998, and it's no secret that we love it! Our company, Fun Facts Publishing, provides information and inspiration for the many scrapbook entrepreneurs across the world. As the business grew, and we began traveling to trade shows and conventions across the country, one thing became abundantly clear: many scrapbook enthusiasts fit into one general category. As we became aware of this, we began to notice the available product selection and layouts in the magazines, as well as the advertisements. Was this really representative of the types of people who were scrapbooking?

That's when Sue began to research and realized that there were many different types of scrapbook enthusiasts, and they were eager to have their voices be heard. Extremely limited products selection, under-represented in the magazines, even uncomfortable at their local scrapbook stores - this is what she heard again and again.

Sue wrote the book because the industry needs to know and understand that scrapbooking is something everyone can enjoy - regardless of culture, gender, religion, age, or any of the other things that "separate" us. If the industry doesn't change and begin reaching out to present and future scrapbook enthusiasts, how will it progress?

We launched this web site because we wanted a place for people to connect. We know that a wide range of diverse scrapbookers are out there, and we wanted to provide a community where you all can feel validated and welcome. In addition, we wanted to provide information to you about the progress the industry is making toward diversity, as well as provide members of the industry the information they need to keep facilitating these changes.

We recognize that this concept may be faced with some apprehension and even negativity from some. However, we believe it's the right thing to do. And because we are always advising people to "follow their passion," we decided to use our own advice and pursue this passion of ours.

We hope you enjoy your time here! Please keep checking back, as this is a continual work in progress and we plan on adding much more information. And please let us know what you think! Ideas, suggestions, comments - please email them to ideas@scrapbookingdiversity.com. Thank you!
